Prof. (Dr.) Sanjiv Kumar Maheshwari, is a son of Shri Radhey Shyam Maheshwari & Smt. Suman Lata. He was eldest son of the family. He was admited to Saraswati Vidhya Mandir for primary education. However due National Emergency, the School was closed. He got admitted to Lxmi Bai Nagar Palika Primary School, where he completed his primary educationleading to class V.

Later, He was admitted to the MGNPIC, Ujhani for class VI, from where he has passed 10 and 12 in Science and Biology stream, with first divisionsand distinctions. Since, higher education was only available at Bareilly, so He got admitted to B. Sc. at Bareilly College Bareilly after completion of Graduation in 1986. He was selected for the Master's program at G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar with Biochemistry. He qualified for Ph D enterance examination of AIIMS, New Delhi and at his Alma mater GBPUAT, Pantnagar, He joined his alma mater over AIIMS for doing Ph D in Biochemistry as Major subjct and Molecular Biology & Biotechnology. During his doctoral program at GBPUAT, he has quailified GATE-1994, and CSIR-UGC-NET with JRF of UGC, He was awarded with JRF and SRF of the UGC.
